What Is The Discseel® Procedure ?
Discseel is a minimally invasive procedure that utilizes a natural biologic, meant to heal your discs and prevent leaks by promoting regrowth of healthy tissue. It introduces fibrin, which incorporates into the disc to form a barrier, with the ultimate goal of sealing any tears that reside in the outer portion of the discs. This sealing prevents disc fluid from leaking out an inflaming the surrounding nerves that cause pain. The fibrin creates an environment where new disc tissue can grow, promoting healing and tissue regrowth. During your treatment, Dr. Stem Cell will inject fibrin, an FDA approved biologic, into the torn disc. This process will seal the annular tears immediately, and promote cellular regeneration and growth of new disc tissue.
Reason #1
Degenerative Changes
As we age, our joints experience wear and tear, leading to chronic ailments such as arthritis, tendonitis, and articular cartilage deterioration. Left untreated, these conditions can worsen over time.
Reason #2
Overuse Strain
Commonly observed in athletes and individuals engaged in repetitive physical tasks, overuse strain can trigger various forms of inflammation, including bursitis.
Reason #3
Traumatic Injury
Injuries such as meniscus tears, ligament sprains, and cartilage damage are frequent outcomes of knee trauma. These injuries can result in significant daily discomfort and necessitate prompt attention.

The Discseel® Procedure SEALS and HEALS Injured Spine Discs
Leaky Disc Syndrome is a term to explain to patients that their lower back, leg pain, or neck and arm symptoms are most often caused by a disc that is torn and leaking. When a disc tears, it allows the gel-like inner portion in the center of the disc to leak onto adjacent sciatic nerves, causing inflammation which leads to pain and other symptoms. Many patients are told their symptoms are caused by a pinched nerve. While this is true in some cases, most pain and symptoms experienced in the extremities (such as tingling, numbness and weakness) are caused by annular tears that have progressed into herniated and bulged discs. Your spine discs are made up of two parts: the outer annulus fibrosus rings and the inner nucleus pulposus gel. The annulus fibrosus rings are important because they keep the nucleus pulposus contained. This is critical because when tears occur within the annulus fibrosus rings, the nucleus pulposus leaks onto the adjacent scaitic nerve. Your body perceives the gel as a foreign substance, causing sciatic nerve inflammation which leads to pain, tingling, numbness and weakness in the extremities.
At the Stem Cell Institute of Los Angeles, our team provides cellular therapy to alleviate symptoms associated with numerous knee conditions, such as:
- Osteoarthritis: This condition primarily affects weight-bearing joints like the knees. It results from the breakdown of cartilage due to repetitive movements, leading to bone-on-bone friction during motion.
- Rheumatoid arthritis: This autoimmune disorder initially targets small joints but can progress to affect larger joints like the knees, causing inflammation and pain as the immune system attacks the synovial tissues.
Patellar tendinitis arises from inflammation of the patellar tendon, commonly occurring due to activities involving jumping or kneeling, resulting in knee pain and discomfort.
This syndrome manifests as anterior knee pain and discomfort around the kneecap due to repetitive stress, muscle imbalances, and injuries.

Frequently Asked Questions
Cellular Therapy involves using cells to treat or prevent diseases or conditions. Stem cells have the unique ability to develop into different types of cells in the body, making them valuable for repairing damaged tissues and organs.
Cells can be obtained from various sources, including bone marrow, adipose tissue (fat), umbilical cord blood, and embryonic tissues. Each source has its advantages and potential applications.
Cellular Therapy shows promise in treating a wide range of conditions, including orthopedic injuries, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, autoimmune diseases, and chronic pain conditions.
When performed by qualified medical professionals in regulated Cellular Therapy is generally considered safe. However, like any medical procedure, it carries some risks, including infection, allergic reactions, and potential tumor formation.
The effectiveness of Cellular Therapy varies depending on the condition being treated, the type of cells used, and individual patient factors. While some patients experience significant improvement, others may see more modest results.
The regulatory status of Cellular Therapy varies by country and jurisdiction. In many cases, Cellular Therapy are still considered experimental and may not have full approval from regulatory agencies like the FDA.
Cellular Therapy can be administered through various methods, including injections, infusions, and surgical implantation, depending on the condition being treated and the type of cells used.
In many cases, Cellular Therapy is not covered by insurance because it is considered experimental or investigational. However, coverage policies vary among insurance providers and may change over time.
The timeframe for seeing results from Cellular Therapy varies depending on the condition being treated, the severity of the condition, and individual patient factors. Some patients may experience improvement within weeks, while others may require several months.
Depending on the type of therapy and the condition being treated, your healthcare provider may recommend certain lifestyle changes or precautions to optimize the effectiveness of treatment and minimize risks.
While Cellular Therapy has shown promise in treating certain diseases and conditions, it is not always a cure. In many cases, it can help manage symptoms, slow disease progression, or improve quality of life.
The cost of Cellular Therapy can vary significantly, To gain a clearer understanding of the potential costs involved and to receive personalized information tailored to your needs, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with one of our experts. During this consultation, our team will provide comprehensive information regarding treatment options, associated costs, and any available financing or insurance options.

Stem cells are like the architects of our body’s construction site, possessing an extraordinary versatility that sets them apart from other cell types. Imagine them as the master builders, capable of transforming into a myriad of specialized cell types based on the body’s needs. This remarkable adaptability enables them to serve as the foundation upon which our tissues and organs are constructed.
In times of injury or illness, stem cells act as our body’s natural repair crew, swooping in to mend damaged tissues and replenish depleted cells. They possess the remarkable ability to divide and differentiate into specific cell types, such as muscle, bone, nerve, or skin cells, to facilitate healing and restoration. This regenerative prowess lies at the heart of their importance in medical science, offering promising avenues for treating a wide array of conditions, from degenerative diseases to traumatic injuries.
